Submitted by W1GJM on Thu, 2018/07/26 - 15:14 [From Admins] Map issue -- a fix of sorts Forums: WSPRnet.org Site The issue with the Google Maps is related to the change Google made on July 16th, 2018 that severely curtails the free API limits. WSPRNet will be transitioning to an alternative mapping solution as soon as possible. In the interim I have added a new field to the User Profile form for storing your own Google Maps API Key, if you want to get back to the way things were. You can get your own API Key by following the link below and I would strongly encourage you to read the Q&A down the page. Today, I finally managed to get the Raspberry Pi 4 to communicate over RealVNC with my iPad and the Icom IC-7300. The most difficult issue was getting the RealVNC to provide a desktop image to the iPad. Most of the instructional YouTube videos and other instructional webpages assume that their audiences are reasonably well-versed in Linux. I know virtually NOTHING about Linux. I am running a simple Lenovo Thinkcentre Mini PC headless connected to an SDRPlay DUO. The SDRPlay DUO has the same antenna attached to both inputs ( 100' of 16GA wire hanging in the fence which is 6' tall) no baluns no nothing, the cable literally soldered to a coax with a PL in the other end. Had an old Pi so gave it a try with a simple 40 meter filter. no amplifier.. Amazed to see some hits in the USA and Canida. Tried 80 meters last night and not one hit.. Ha Hope everyone is sticking to the rules and keeping safe. WSPRlite incorporates 30 and 20 m bands- Filter Kit for 160, 80 and 40 m, selected by a switch. This runs on my TC2M-antenna, when this is not used for QSO. The TC2M-antenna was designed by Martin Ehrenfried G8JNJ. I built this antenna in 2015. Therefore I created the DJ2LS RFMap, which combines the data of WSPR, DXCLUSTER and PSKREPORTER on one map. >>>>>>> https://maps.dj2ls.de/ <<<<<<< Actually there are nearly one million spots in the database for the last 24 hours which will be refreshed every 5 minutes. Or who knows, maybe I just suffered multiple brain aneurysms :O In either case, I dumped a half hour or so worth of 20 M data into 160 M this AM - this is probably the second or third time this happened - sorry about that folks... =================== By KD6RF at Sat, 2020/03/14 - 15:31 Read more about bad 160 M entries / flakey 30 M power level KD6RF's blog Pages 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 … next › last » For issues with this site, email the WSPRNET Admin Team or post to the site forum.
